Diamond Bank supports young entrepreneurs with SAED initiative
vanguardngr.com Thursday, February 15, 2018 02:10 Diamond Bank Plc rewarded a set of youth corps members for fifth consecutive time through its National Youth Service Corps Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (NYSC SAED). The initiative is part of the bank’s effort of empowering and supporting young entrepreneurs and small and medium scale businesses Diamond Bank Speaking on behalf of the bank, Mrs. Ogechi Altraide, Head, Sales, said that the NYSC SAED (Skills Acquisition & Entrepreneurship Development) initiative was born out of the bank’s love for the youth and passion for grooming young entrepreneurs who will become employers of labour and business leaders of tomorrow. She also added that Diamond Bank is doing a lot to ease the pains of the young graduates as job search which was why it created the first ever Curriculum Vitae (CV) bank which allows young graduate to upload their CVs to a digital bank where employers can easily asses the documents for employment purposes. She also encouraged the corps members to take advantage of all the Diamond Bank entrepreneurship grooming platforms; SAED and Building Entrepreneurs Today, BET, so as to acquire all the necessary skills to build a formidable business career.
“The edge I have in business today is as a result of the trainings and funding I got from the Diamond Bank full scholarship to Enterprise Development Center (EDC) which fortified me for the task ahead,” said Mr. Abiodun Folawiyo, a past winner of the BET programme, another platform through which Diamond Bank grooms and supports young entrepreneurs.
He also encouraged corps members to tap into the SAED programme, saying that it would help them to stand out in the tough country’s business terrain. Prince Mohammed Momoh, the NYSC State coordinator in his speech, appreciated Diamond Bank for its unrelenting effort in training and supporting young businesses and entrepreneurs. The event, which was concluded with a draw, produced five winners who would be paid N5,000 pocket money every month for the next one year by Diamond Bank amidst other consolation prizes.
